$$ for nothing

Been sitting here in Learning Connection in uni doing next to nothing, and being paid $21 per hour for it. Life is good. My role as a Student Guide / Buddy is basically to smile and talk to new students, register them, answer any questions and not blog while on duty. Well.. there's nothing to do anyways. So far only 4 new students have come in today. *Yawn* Later on, will be conducting a workshop 'Managing Your Money'. Wonder why I got chosen for that. *hides dollar signs on eyes)

Tomorrow we're going up to the Adelaide Hills to the Wildlife Park. With cold and rainy weather (colder in the hills!) I'm glad I'm being paid.

I sound money minded, don't I.

And that brings me to......... I WANT A NEW LAPTOP. My current 'Great Quality' laptop is pretty crap. Of course, a company that calles itself Great Quality can't be all that great. It's like they're reassuring themselves.. hehe..

Bad: The screen wobbles
Worse: The screen goes blank when it wobbles although the computer is still on
Terrible!: The computer restartes itself when the screen wobbles a bit too much.

So many more things going wrong with this darn laptop. No sound, it hangs sometimes...

But when it behaves itself, it is quite a decent thing. Just gotta know it well and not wobble the screen. But......... I STILL WANT A NEW LAPTOP.

So. I have my eyes (and heart) set on the Compaq V2000. Been doing research on it as I always do and heck, it's all I need and more. Basically, its a thin-and-light computer with a nice screen and speakers and is customizable from the compaq website. Only around about USD1000 so it is really affordable for what it is.

Me wants the V2000 with ...

1.6 GHz
512 RAM
BrightView
DVD-RW (Ok, CD-RW is fine too)
B/G Wireless
12 Cell Battery (7 hours!)

Looks good? I wonder what the 1.5 is like in comparison to the 1.6. There's someone selling the same configs with the 1.5 for only USD650 and it's quite new. The big diff would be that the 1.5 is Centrino and the1.6 is Pentium M. I really want to get a 'perfect' laptop so I won't think of changing again anytime soon. Would be nice to actually play music on my comp as well.............. Decisions, decisions....

Other than that, been shopping with Sandy!! Bad bad... only planned to go out to buy a dress that was $20 down from $200 (pics later, at uni now) but ended up buying ermmm.. quite a lot of stuff. The good thing is that in the process of buying ermm.. a lot of stuff, I talked to the owner and was joking that after all my purchases, he should let me work for him. And he agreed! So I'm going to put my resume in and speak to him next week. Most of the clothes in that shop *ahem* look good on me, so haha.. I can advertise the clothes by wearing them!! =D Anyhow, I think I will enjoy working for him. He's nice and funny... good taste in clothes too!!!

Until I'm bored again, signing off!!
